That what might have been a small, local boutique is now blossoming into an internationally recognised and successful business, provides a valuable lesson in the potential of good Google ranking and use of the social web.

With an nice, personable use of social media accounts by owner Vicki Hesketh, the business has the right fresh and friendly online feel to excel in the ecommerce marketplace. And more than this, Accessories Online clearly has the required web savvy to succeed, evidenced by fact that they've managed to hit the top of the rankings with such a competitive, and indeed lucrative, set of keywords for a brand name. In fact, the site is one of the most visited in the UK for the search terms 'accessories' and 'costume jewellery'.

In short, Accessories Online is a business very much on the up. The well-run Facebook page broke 5000 likes before Christmas and a massive following on Twitter for a business of the size looks promising for 2012 growth. The Twitter account is run by the owner, with nice personal touches showing good transparency in the running of the business, providing a window into the friendly workings of the retailer.
